What type of accounts do you offer? 

We offer a range of accounts to help ordinary investors through to accounts for experienced, professional and companies. We offer two types of account for ordinary investors:

 

  1. an Advisory Account offering you a personal service with a telephone broker; and

  2. an Online Trading Account which offers no advice but allows you access to trade yourself through the internet.

 

For more experienced investors we also offer a Private Equity service, investing in start-up pre listed companies and for companies we offer a range of services also.

How do I open an account? 

Our Advisory and Online accounts can be applied for online through our website

How do I credit money to my account?

You can deposit money via the WorldPay link using a debit card and be trading in minutes. If you wish to sell shares you already hold these will need to be deposited with us before you can trade, taking an average two weeks.

How do I make payments via Maestro?

Due to a procedural change by debit card issuers Maestro, customers paying by this method may experience difficulties if the payment amount exceeds your card limit, irrespective if cleared funds are available. Maestro, not Hoodless Brennan have made this change. Other cards (Visa Debit, Electron) are not affected.

 

The following alternative payment methods are available to you:

 

  1. Online clients can use the World Pay system. However, you may experience similar problems with Maestro Cards. Your payment may or may not be accepted.

  2. You can send in a cheque payable to Hoodless Brennan, posted to 40 Marsh Wall, London, E14 9TP. Please write your client number on the back on the cheque.

  3. You can also make payment direct into our client bank account at HSBC Bank PLC, PO Box 68, 130 New Street, BIRMINGHAM, B2 4JU. Sort Code 40-11-18. Account number 72488876. Please quote your client account number, as we must return all unidentifiable bank receipts.

How do I get money back from my account? 

For online accounts you can log into your account online and request a refund through the ‘Money’ section of your account. If you have an advisory account please contact your broker to request a refund. Funds are usually sent direct to your bank account by BACS transfer and take three days to be received into your account.

Do you charge any annual fees? 

We do not charge an annual management fee for our ordinary Advisory or Online accounts. However, an inactivity fee may be levied on your Online account. We charge you commission only when you trade on these accounts. Our ISA accounts have a low annual fee.

Do you charge if I don't use the account? 

We do not charge any annual management or inactivity fees for our ordinary Advisory accounts.  Your Online account will remain free to use as long as you trade at least once per quarter, if you do not trade in the previous quarter you will be charged a maintenance fee. We charge you commission only when you trade on these accounts. Our ISA & SIPP accounts have a low annual fee.
